WHAT TO EXPECT

A day at the academy

Every course day follows a clear structure โ€” designed so you spend as much time as possible with tools in hand and as little time as possible listening to lectures.

The day opens with a brief introduction to the materials, tools, and techniques you’ll be working with. Your tutor will walk through the science behind what you’re about to do โ€” keeping it practical, not theoretical.

You’ll work through the key techniques on sample panels before applying them to a real project piece. Your tutor guides you through every step, correcting technique and answering questions as they arise.

The afternoon focuses on applying your new skills to a complete project โ€” or, if you’ve brought a piece from your own car, working on that directly. The aim is to leave with something you’re genuinely proud of.

Just yourself and comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting materials on. All tools, materials, and samples are provided. If you have a specific piece from your own vehicle you’d like to work on, let us know when booking and we’ll advise.

Can I work on a part from my own car?

Yes, if you arrange it with us before the course. Pieces from your own car are worked on in the afternoon session.
